Our Mission   Our Goals   Who We Are
Our mission is to partner with family-serving agencies and build upon existing programs to promote protective factors around children and families in order to improve their well-being outcomes.   The goals of organization include: to improve health and well-being outcomes for young children; to reduce racial/ethnic disparities in child wellness; to promote strong and nurturing parent/child relationships; to increase safety and security of children and families; to improve early literacy and school readiness; and to help prevent child maltreatment, abuse and neglect.   Helping Others Grow (HOG) is a non-profit organization that supports family-serving agencies to promote protective factors and address children's physical, social, emotional, and behavioral wellness. We firmly believe that in order to help children, you must support their family. What are protective factors? The five protective factors are the foundation of the Strengthening Families approach. Extensive research supports that when these factors are present and robust in a family, the family is healthier.
Helping Others Grow was founded in honor of Dr. Alexander Winn Kennedy who passed away on August 3, 2013.
He continued to seek opportunities to improve his skills and empower himself so he could better serve his community.
We will do the same.
